Summer Science Institute (SSI)

The Summer Science Institute at the University of Florida is an ongoing professional development opportunity for secondary science teachers focused on updating content knowledge and laboratory experience. Together with UF faculty and graduate students, teachers perform authentic research, visit laboratories and facilities, hear talks by research and industry leaders, share best practices and develop standards-aligned classroom applications.

Topics for SSI vary by year, but have included Aquatic Systems, Exploring the Tree of Life, Emerging Pathogens, and Environmental Systems.
