SSI: Environmental Sciences Program in Collaboration with UF/IFAS Florida-Friendly Landscaping

UF CPET invites Florida K-12 teachers to participate in Phase 2 of the University of Florida's Center for Precollegiate Education and Training's Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (UF CPET FFL) K-12 Curriculum project, a new initiative cooperatively funded by the University of Florida and the United States Environmental Protection Agency aimed to promote water conservation and water quality improvements in Florida.

This project aims to develop a K-12 curriculum based on the Florida science standards and the FFL principles. Teachers are invited to pilot test the curriculum by implementing one of these developed lesson plans in their classroom. *Please note that some lesson plans have additional files attached in a zip drive*

Your valuable participation will include submitting your activity results to the project team and completing a classroom impact survey. This survey will require you to share some basic information about your class and school, offer a critique of the lesson plan, explain how you adapted it to your classroom needs, and share any assessment questions or worksheets you created.

A link to the survey is provided HERE.

Upon successful completion of these requirements, a $50 Visa gift card will be mailed to you as reimbursement for the cost of supplies. Priority will be given to teachers from schools located within Basin Management Action Plan (BMAP) areas and Title One schools.

Below is a comprehensive draft of all the curriculum developed. You can view the unedited version created by each teacher, further down on this page.
