Fees & Financial Aid
Program fees include all program-related costs, including housing, staffing, program materials, field trips, weekend activities, program-sponsored social activities, a t-shirt and other UF “swag.” The program fees include daily meals, except UF SSTP. Daily meals are not included in the cost of the UF SSTP program. Participants may bring personal spending money for extra snacks and souvenirs. Transportation to and from Gainesville is the responsibility of the student and family.
Links to pay program fees will become available after invitations have been sent. Payments can be made through online payments at Eventbrite for a service charge or by check/money order only. Checks must be made out to University of Florida with the students name and program in the memo line.
Application Fees & Fee Waiver
Application Fees are required for Research Explorations and UF Student Science Training Program and can be paid online through Eventbrite HERE. Checks can also be mailed to our office. However, please note that you will not be able to submit your online application until our office has received and processed your payment. Checks must be made out to the University of Florida with the student’s name and the program(s) they are applying for in the memo line. The application fee is $35 for these programs. If you are financially unable to pay the $35 application fee, are a Florida resident, and qualify for free and reduced lunch, please fill out this form to request that your application fee be waived.
Financial aid is only available to Florida residents attending an in-state school. Students who have a need for financial aid in order to attend a UF CPET program may apply by completing and returning this form during the UF CPET application process. Please note that you may be asked to submit a copy of your tax return. Forms can be faxed (352-392-2344), mailed, or emailed to the program(s) you are applying for. See individual program pages for corresponding email addresses.
Admission to the program is not dependent upon ability to pay. Aid requests will be evaluated on the basis of the applicant’s financial need, the amount of funds available for scholarships, and the criteria set by the donor. Scholarship recipients are required to write thank you letters, to provide a copy of their final projects to be submitted to funding agencies as requested, and to provide updates to the UF CPET Office in a timely manner when requested.
There is no set deadline for the Financial Aid Application, however only the completed program and financial aid applications received at the time each funding agency is granting scholarships will be considered. Therefore, please submit your UF CPET Application and Financial Aid Application as early as possible.
