How to Apply

We are now entering the final round of application review, applications must be received in full by April 3rd.  Tuesday, April 4th Update: Applications are now closed.  Application materials received via email or hard copy will no longer be considered.

UF SSTP Applications must be received IN FULL no later than Monday, April 3rd to be considered in the final round of review.  Please do not submit application materials after this date. 2017 applications are now closed to out of state students.  Tuesday, April 4th Update:  Applications are closed.  Application materials received via email or hard copy will no longer be considered.

UF SSTP Applicants must have completed 11th grade and be 16 years old or older by June 11, 2017.

A Completed Application consists of the following:

  • Completed Application Form
  • Two Teacher Endorsement Forms
  • Official High School Transcript
  • Academic Record Form

The Application Form includes student and parent/guardian Information, applicant’s research interest, an essay, and additional information.  All UF SSTP Communication is done through the student’s e-mail provided on the application. It is the student’s responsibility to check their e-mail regularly to get updates on their application status. Completed Application Forms should be emailed as an attachment to Only the applicant’s first and last name should be in the subject line. If e-mail is not feasible, Complete Application Forms should be mailed.

Two Teacher Endorsement Forms are required from Science, Math, Computer, or Research Teachers ONLY. Applicants may provide a hardcopy of the Teacher Endorsement Form with a stamped and addressed envelope. Alternatively, students may also complete page 1 of the electronic form, save, and e-mail it to their endorser for completion. Forms must be sent directly to the CPET Office by the teacher via e-mail, to our mailing address, or faxed to 352-392-2344.

A Hardcopy of a student’s Official High School Transcript must be mailed directly to the CPET Office by the school office.  An unofficial transcript may be sent while waiting for the Official.  Your Junior Year’s first semester grades required.

The Academic Record Form is to be completed by a Guidance Counselor or similar administrator. Students are not required to have taken pre-college entrance exams, such as the PSAT, SAT, or ACT. However, if previously taken, they should be reported.

Students will be notified via e-mail when their application is complete. The selection committee will begin reviewing and selecting applicants to be invited beginning in February 2017. We have a rolling admission process. Application will continue to be accepted and reviewed until the program is full.
