Dual Enrollment at UF
Dual Enrollment (DE) is an opportunity for high school students to enroll in classes at the University of Florida and to receive both high school and college credit for the courses taken.
It allows the high school student to experience a thriving university atmosphere while attending challenging college-level courses.
Students outside of the local area looking to dual enroll completely online should visit UF online Dual Enrollment.
Read what past DE students have said about the program:
“I had taken just about all of the AP classes I could, and wanted to learn more about specific interests I had. For example, I took International Sustainable Development because the topic appeared in my AP Environmental Science class and I wanted to learn more about it.”
“It helped me take classes that were not offered at my high school, allowed me to receive college credit, and helped me choose my major for when I entered university.”
“Personally, the classes I took had no analog at my high school, and the classes I took ultimately influenced my explorations in college.”
“It helped me by allowing me to take classes that weren’t offered at my high school, and it gave me exposure to the rigorous college curriculum. It also helped me learn the responsibility and dedication required in college courses while I still had the full support of high school behind me.”
“I think I was much more prepared for college classes because of dual enrollment. Since I took classes at UF to supplement my high school curriculum, I understood the importance of balancing your workload for many different classes. Doing well in college classes as a high school student gave me the confidence to go into college fearlessly as an actual college student.”
“The program opened my eyes to how university courses are conducted, and what is expected out of students in college. While there are many outlets for college readiness in high school such as AP courses, I would recommend every college-bound student to dual enroll, especially at an institution such as the University of Florida. While I was able to see certain parallels between how high school teachers conduct AP courses versus professors and university-level courses, there lies an inherent disconnect in the fact that AP courses, while rigorous, are still high school courses.”
“I believe that dual enrolling helped me mature in ways I never thought possible, and without that experience, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
“I think I was much more prepared for college classes because of dual enrollment… Doing well in college classes as a high school student gave me the confidence to go into college fearlessly as an actual college student.”
“The program absolutely helped me in preparation for post high school. Getting college experience was incredibly helpful in learning how to study and manage my time for higher level courses. I also would credit my time at UF with developing a sense of independence moving out of high school.”
“Dual enrolling was one of the best decisions I made in high school.”
“I really enjoyed the Dual Enrollment program and recommended it to as many people as I could. It was a great experience.”
“I highly recommend UF’s Dual Enrollment program to those who are academically motivated.”
“Had I not dual enrolled at UF, I probably wouldn’t be where I am now.”
