The following curricula were created as part of a Supplemental Award to our NIH Bench to Bedside Grant. B2B curriculum fellows spend three weeks on campus in the summer, working in a clinical research lab and developing modules that are aligned with state and national science standards and that serve as a way to introduce cutting-edge research to students.
Each unit is comprised of thematic modules which are hands-on and inquiry-based. Averaging 5 lessons per module, these curricular units stress collaborative learning and incorporating biotechnology applications, as well as nature of science components and 21st century skills. Furthermore the lessons in each module are designed to be stand-alone, so that educators may pick and choose how much or how little of the module is used.
