My TRUE Project involves a series of laboratory activities designed to test for the presence of bacteria in food. Additionally, students will be able to test various methods to improve food safety and handling. Science fair projects can easily be developed from these laboratory activities. The TRUE program enabled teachers to improve their research skills and have the opportunity to network with other teaching professionals! Each participant returned to their classroom with a extensive source book of activities, laboratories, and demonstrations. You can eMail Dr. Tamplin at MLT@GNV.IFAS.UFL.EDU

Information about the TRUE Program can be found at http:/www.cpet.ufl.edu/true/default.html

The morning lectures provide a large source of information for my classes. A varied cross section of topics were discussed! I really enjoyed the lectures on viruses and influenza. Students consistently want to know facts about disease and it's transmission.
