Biotech Basics
UF was an excellent host and provider of information in the field of biotechnology. The lab activities, tours, and speakers were very beneficial. This program is an ideal opportunity for science teachers to keep abreast of the emerging technologies.
All science teacher should have the opportunity to see and experience the activities in order to bring back information to students. This was ‘real time’ science. I would have never been able to find/know/discover/been informed about biotechnology.
Explorations in Environmental Science
This was the best workshop I’ve encountered so far...hope to attend more of these type of professional development. My environmental AP teacher will be so jealous...I’m gonna share though...maybe she’ll come next year after I rub it in.
I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. I learned so much this week.
I highly recommend this workshop to any teacher who wants to bring home the issue of water quality to students in a clear, exciting way using excellent materials and hands-on activities.
Research Topics in Environmental Science
This has been an extremely useful and worthwhile workshop. I plan to incorporate all or part of each session into one or more of the courses that I teach. The opportunity to gain hand on experience will make it easier to share with high school students. These workshops also provide teachers with extremely valuable professional contacts at the University and in the business sector.
All the topics are related directly to what I teach. Many ideas were shared and discussed, so I have so may new things to try!
A week well spent. Definitely worth the time and effort. Would highly recommend to others!
