Web Authoring
This course covers the fundamental principals and techniques used in web authoring. Course topics provide an overview of the majority of technologies and standards associated with the creation of web pages. Course projects and labs will provide students with hands on experience using these technologies as well as graphic editors such as Macromedia Dreamweaver.
Class sessions will include lectures, presentations, and discussions as well as hands on projects. At the first class, specific focus areas will be assigned to each student in the course. It is the responsibility of each student to research the assigned focus area and report findings on the specified due date. In addition, students will create a web page based on their Student Science Training Program lab experiences. The web page may include your picture, your first name, your hometown, a description of your lab/research project including links to your lab professors Email and lab, a link back to the SSTP main web page, and two essays highlighting the information attained from any of the morning lectures. You are encouraged to be creative and make the web page an extension of you. Feel free to add any additional information that reflects your SSTP experiences.
Grading will be based on objective as well as such subjective criteria as overall impression, thoroughness, attention to detail and extra effort. Completing the minimum requirements does not guarantee an A grade for this course. Excellent grades are reserved for outstanding work. Grading for this course will be based on the following criteria:
