Beaty Towers

Student Science Training Program (SSTP)

Housing

UF-SSTP participants and residential staff live in the Beaty Towers Residence Hall on the UF campus. Each suite has two double-occupancy bedrooms, a kitchen, living area and a bathroom. Please visit the highlighted link above for more information on this residence. Upon invitation to participate in the UF-SSTP, students will be mailed detailed information on the kinds of items they will want to bring with them for their stay during the program.

Recreation

Program-sponsored social and recreational activities allow participants to relax and share their experiences.  Planned activities include: dances; a talent show; costume, pizza and pool parties; covered dish dinners, ice cream socials, and concerts; a student-professor reception; and an awards banquet. Students also plan individual free-time activities (limited primarily to Sundays).

Participants may use many of the facilities of the university. Athletic facilities available include: basketball, volleyball, tennis, and racquetball courts; and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Student Government at the university also presents free concerts, movies, and lectures throughout the summer.
