Junior Science, Engineering and Humanities Symposium (JSEHS)
Poster Composition

The following important information should be included on the front of each poster:

Title, Student's name and school, Abstract, Introduction, Hypothesis, Methods (if applicable), Results (if applicable) Conclusions, Acknowledgements

A poster should be concise since the student researcher will be present to explain and elaborate. You should not have more than a single page each for the abstract, introduction, problem, methods, results, and conclusions.

The title on the poster should be at least one inch (72 pts.) in height. The student's name and school should be 3/4 inch high (54 pts.). All other lettering should be in a 24-point size font.

Use sans serif typeface (such as Helvetica) for poster title, student's name and school, and major headings

Blocks of text should be serif typeface (such as Times/Times Roman)

The poster should be balanced and organized in a logical, sequential order

Determine in advance what you will display and how it will be organized

Keep the amount of text to a minimum. Emphasize graphics, tables, charts, graphs, and photos

Use white space to make reading easier
